Happy Spring

Easter Sunday presents a dilemma for a young, non-religious couple. Do we celebrate Easter? Do we treat it just like any other Sunday? One advantage to starting our own family is that we get to decide what traditions we continue, forget and start. Growing up my family would celebrate the religious aspects of Easter, but I don't ever remember having an Easter basket filled with goodies.

Will an unhealthy obsession with candy, and the joy I get from being creative and crafty I decided that we are going to have "Easter baskets" - but we'll do them in the spirit of Eostra, the pagan goddess of spring and fertility(who Easter was originally started for). We'll celebrate the blooming flowers, the baby animals, and the hope for warmer weather.

Especially the warmer weather.

Under the Weather

For the past few days I've been under the weather with a snot filled nose and sore throat.

I think this is just what the doctor ordered...

MMM Tricky Stix from PizzaPipeline. I can't even tell you how
excited I was last week when I found out there was
a PizzaPipeline in Pullman. (Its in Washington, but only 15 minuets away.)

The pizza selection in our town is pathetic.
Yes, we do have a Dominos (Which was my favorite)
but the store here burns the pizza every time.
Our only other options are

Pizza Hut (YUCK! I was fair and gave it another try. Disappointment, just what I expected.)

Pappa Murphys (Do you really expect me to pay and bake?)

and some local joint that tastes like cardboard.

PizzaPipeline please don't let me down! I haven't had their pizza in ages
but there was a store in American Fork when I was a teenager, and I think we ate there
often, well until it closed.... hmmm.

If all else fails I'll fill up on cinnamon stix.

I'm a BEAST

The past two days I have been in a funk, or should I say FUNK.
I have no idea why but I have been extremely irritable and angry over nothing. I woke up today enraged and angry up to my eye balls.

Who wakes up angry?

My poor husband has tried so hard not to say the wrong thing or get in my way.
Last night I was too pissy to make dinner, he went and bought dinner.
Today I came home on my lunch to find...

I feel like a horrible person. But the moral of the story is if you act like a brat your husband will buy you a rose as a peace offering. Poor guy!

I'm trying so hard to pull out of this funk. If something doesn't give soon I think I'm going to change my birth control. I've heard that some brands have this effect on some people. This doesn't seem plausible for me because I've been on the same pill for almost two years.

Advice?

I'm thinking the cure could be a vacation!

Summer Lovin

I haven't blogged in a while. Here is a quick update on my latest project...

I've made a few things here and there lately. I finally make myself a snuggie - I'll get of picture of that on a day I am wearing makeup. (I've been pretty lazy today.)

I also made/designed a dress for my niece, Elle. She is five this spring and I remember a red dress my mom made me when I was five.
It wasn't particularly amazing, but I remember feeling so loved that my mom took the time to make me a dress. Since I've been so far away, and missing Elle like CRAZY - I
decided I wanted to make her a dress.

I am thrilled with how it turned out. I was sure that I was going to mess it up.
Don't be too proud of me though - I still found an excuse to be selfish..

I LOVE GUESS SHOES! I found them at Ross and had the classic case of buyer's
remorse for not getting them. After feeling sad for a few days
I finally went back and they had one pair left in my size! $30.00 is more than
I should have spent on a pair of shoes I didn't need right now, but they are normally
$150.00 - I couldn't help it. :D
